Cycle each layer
Every paper layer owns a fixed list of states—depth, tilt, or placement. One tap on that layer’s dial moves it forward one notch. There is no free-form drag; the puzzle is choosing the right sequence of cycles.

Paper Theater is a miniature stage of paper-cutout layers. Each layer has a dial that cycles through a small set of positions. Tap to advance a layer one step, watch how its shadow falls on the backdrop, and line everything up until the silhouette matches the target—using as few dial turns as you can.
Every paper layer owns a fixed list of states—depth, tilt, or placement. One tap on that layer’s dial moves it forward one notch. There is no free-form drag; the puzzle is choosing the right sequence of cycles.
Layers stack in depth. A shape in front can hide or reveal part of the shadow from a layer behind it. The order you turn the dials can matter as much as the final positions you pick.
No clock counts down. You read the stage, advance dials, and compare the combined shadow to the target silhouette on the backdrop.
The backdrop shows the shadow you need. Every puzzle has one clear silhouette to recreate.
Each cutout sits at its own depth. Tap the dial attached to the layer you want to change.
One tap cycles that layer to its next fixed state. Overlaps update immediately on the backdrop.
When the shadow matches, the scene clears. Fewer total dial turns mean a stronger star rating.
PaperTheater spreads its puzzles across three acts—from gentle two-layer scenes to overlapping shadow riddles—and keeps lifetime tallies on the device.
